Our Story
Soldier Girl Boutique was founded with a deep sense of purpose and passion, inspired by the resilience, toughness, and strength of women who have served in the military and the families who support them. Our founder, a veteran herself, experienced firsthand the profound isolation and challenges of reintegration after her second tour in Afghanistan.
While many friends and family members drifted away, it was the support of a few key people—her son, ex-husband, mother, nephews, nieces, and fellow veterans—along with the medical professionals and educators who never gave up on her, becoming the foundation of her survival and healing. The medical community—psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and substance abuse counselors—played a critical role in helping her reclaim her life.
This experience motivated her to create an inclusive space that honors and supports female veterans, servicewomen, and their families—offering what she once lacked: a community that truly understands and stands by them.
The numbers tell an important story: female veterans make up approximately 0.5% of the total U.S. population of 334 million. With only 18% of the military being women and a growing number of female combat veterans, these women represent a small but powerful community. At this time in U.S. history, we have the largest living population of female war veterans, and they need your support!
These women have faced unique challenges both in and out of uniform, from navigating male-dominated spaces to overcoming trauma and reintegrating into civilian life. It is this rare and extraordinary group of women that Soldier Girl Boutique is dedicated to uplifting and empowering.
At Soldier Girl Boutique, we are more than just a nonprofit; we are a community dedicated to Empowerment through Action. We provide a platform where female veterans’ stories, talents, and contributions are celebrated. Through initiatives like our events, podcast, radio station, book club, and more, we uplift and inspire women, offering them a space to connect, share, and grow.
